Participated in the Eco Products 2014

"The 16th ECO PRODUCTS (2014)" was held in Tokyo Big Sight from December 11th to 13th in 2014. According to the organizer, 161,647 people visited the venue in three days.

Fukushima offshore wind consortium participated in the exhibition to introduce the world's first offshore floating wind farm demonstration project broadly to people in and out of Japan. Approximately 8,200 people visited the exhibition booth of the Fukushima offshore wind consortium in three days.

At the booth of the Fukushima offshore wind consortium, a large display showed the movies of the floating offshore wind farm, the construction record of the first phase of the demonstration project and the power generation of the 2MW wind turbine. In addition, a scale model of the semi-sub floater with 2MW downwind turbine and panels were displayed. Many people from various fields including high school students visited the booth and learned the mechanism of the floating offshore wind farm power generation and felt how big the offshore wind farm turbine is. Since the booth was located in the business zone, many business people, who were not in the wind power industry, visited the booth and expressed their expectation for not only this demonstration project but also business development in the future.

During the exhibition period, Professor Ishihara of the University of Tokyo, the technical advisor of the consortium, gave a lecture titled “the Latest progress of Fukushima Floating Offshore Wind Project” on the research results of the first phase and the latest progress of the second phase, which got great reaction from the audience.
