Participated in the 9th RENEWABLE ENERGY EXHIBITION

"The 9th Renewable Energy Exhibition" was held in Tokyo Big Sight from July 30th to August 1st in 2014. According to the organizer, 42,000 people visited the venue in 3 days.

Fukushima offshore wind consortium participated in the exhibition again to conduct the public relations on the world's first offshore floating wind farm demonstration project, and to exchange information with the people in wind energy industry.

Approximately 4,000 people visited the exhibition booth of the Fukushima offshore wind consortium in three days including VIPs such as two former Prime ministers (Mr. Junichiro Koizumi and Mr. Morihiro Hosokawa) and people from the media in and out of Japan.

At the booth of the Fukushima offshore wind consortium, a large display showed the detailed construction record concerning design, production and installation of the semi-sub floater for 2MW turbine, the sub-station and the undersea cable. In addition, a scale model of the semi-sub floater for 2MW turbine showed the three dimensional structure of the wind turbine, the floater and the moor. Panels were displayed to show the results of the offshore floating wind farm project planning, practice and technical development. Since many visitors were expected from overseas, all the explanation of the video and panels were in English.

During the exhibition period, an international conference GRE2014 was also held, and members of the Fukushima offshore wind consortium (the university of Tokyo, Marubeni Corporation Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding, Furukawa Electric and Shimizu Corporation) gave presentations on the research results of floating offshore wind farm demonstration project and displayed posters to explain them, which got great reaction.
