Participated in the 2nd Wind Power Energy World Exhibition, WIND EXPO 2014

The 2nd Wind Power Energy Exhibition, WIND EXPO 2014, was held in Tokyo Big Site from February 26th to 28th in 2014. According to the organizer, 67,272 people visited the venue in 3 days.

Fukushima offshore wind consortium participated in the exhibition to introduce the world's first offshore floating wind farm demonstration project broadly to the people in and out of Japan. Approximately 8,400 people visited the exhibition booth of the Fukushima offshore wind consortium in three days including the VIPs such as US Ambassador Kennedy and many Diet members in Japan.

At the booth of the Fukushima offshore wind consortium, a large display showed the movies of the floating offshore wind farm, the construction record of the first demonstration project and the power generation of the 2MW wind turbine. In addition, a scale model of the semi-sub floater with 2MW downwind turbine and panels were displayed to introduce the demonstration project. The brochures and the record movie of the construction of the first phase of the demonstration project showed visitors how the floating offshore wind farm was making progress.

During the exhibition period, Mr. Ishizuka, a managing director of Hitachi, LTD. a member of the consortium made a keynote speech and Professor Ishihara of the University of Tokyo, the technical advisor of the consortium, gave a lecture on technologies of this project.
